Hotel Type

Boutique Hotel

In a town flush with luxury lodgings like the Surf & Sand and Montage, Laguna Beach is entirely lacking of any real boutique hotel. Or at least until recently,  when a cheeky and cool 23-room hotel opened on within one of the town's first resorts. Stylish weekenders zoom their way from LA in convertibles and vintage cars arriving to a one-room reception area overlooking a courtyard flung with sheer drapery and comfy lounge furnishings. A gentile beat of house music ignites what at times feels like a really good house party amongst a sexy staff with surfer glow. While amenities like an in-house restaurant or swimming pool are not present, area-eating options are endless and the beach is a one-block downhill walk. But before you go, don't forget to see the Surf Valet for beach chairs, complimentary iPods and towels.

The Room

This two-story boutique hotel offers 23-guests rooms on a fairly lively, and sometimes loud, strip of PCH. Cozy Queen and King entry-level rooms make the most of their limited space with integrated aluminum wall units accented by white-glass panels, 42-inch LCD TV and personal espresso machines. Beds are meticulously arranged with high-thread count linens and mixture of feather and synthetic pillows. Bathrooms are lined in grey porcelain tile with minimalist fixtures, Molton Brown bath products and fluffy terrycloth robes that probably take up more space than they are worth.
